"A Mother's Day Prayer"
Take her hand in life, Lord
Help her to follow through
With the courage and determination
In all that she must do
Help her to know my love, Lord
Be me her daughter or her son
Let me show how much I love her
Before her life is done
Walk with her through life's garden, Lord
Where she's toiled many an hour
Give her the strength to say, "I'm tired"
Give her time to smell a flower
I'm not asking much, Lord
These simple requests from me
Just for the peace and tranquillity
For my mother's life to be
Please heed my prayer, Lord
Guide her with Thy love
Watch over her gently, Lord
From your window up above

Thank You, Lord, for motherhood
With all its vale of tears,
For happy moments never dimmed
Through all the many years. —Strecker
"My Mother's Legacy"
My mother is now in glory,
But that is not the end of the story.
There is a legacy she has left behind.
It brings joy and peace of mind.
My mother is now in a much better place,
Because she was saved by God's infinite grace.
She is no longer suffering any pain.
Eternal victory she has gained.
My mother cared for many children in her
home. She loved them as if they were
her own. From reading Bible stories to singing
"Jesus loves me,"She made an impact on their
lives for all eternity. My mother had a heart
of compassion for others. It was displayed in
love for her Christian sisters and brothers.
Just the simple act of a phone call or
sending a note, Often brought encouragement
to those she called and wrote.
My mother must look down from heaven
and smile, Knowing her sacrifices in life were
all worthwhile. I have precious memories of her
that remain in my heart. But most of all, her godly
example, to me she did impart. Someday I will
join her when I reach my heavenly home.
All my labors on earth will be done, nevermore
to roam. But until that glorious day, I want to
make my mother proud. Her legacy lives on
inside of me, to share with others all around.

The death of people whom we love
Brings sorrow and deep pain;
But if our loved ones know the Lord,
Our loss becomes their gain. —Sper
