"Reasons for Suffering"
Our finite minds cannot understand why
Some people suffer before they die.
God may be using what you are going through
To enable others to come to know Him too.
In the case of ongoing illness,
We have a greater witness.
When others see the way we cope,
They will want to know the source of our hope.
When we have suffered, we are more aware
Of others whose pain we can share.
We can encourage them in their time of trial,
That God will be with them all the while.
Often in times of trial our faith becomes stronger,
Even when we feel we can bear it no longer.
Remember God is in control and will take care of you.
He will give you strength until your journey is through.

God is always in control behind the scenes.
"I will be glad and rejoice in your
love, for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.
You have not handed me over to the
enemy but have set my feet in a
spacious place.
Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am
in distress; my eyes grow weak with
sorrow, my soul and my body with
grief. My life is consumed by
anguish and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my
affliction, and my bones grow weak.
Because of all my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my
neighbors; I am a dread to my friends—
those who see me on the street
flee from me. I am forgotten by
them as though I were dead;
I have become like broken
pottery. For I hear the slander
of many; there is terror on every
side; they conspire against me
and plot to take my life.
But I trust in you, O LORD;
I say, "You are my God."
~Psalm 31:7-14~
“Grace and peace to you from God our
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be
to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion
and the God of all comfort, who
comforts us in all our troubles, so that
we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves have
received from God. For just as the
sufferings of Christ flow over into our
lives, so also through Christ our comfort
overflows. If we are distressed, it is for
your comfort and salvation; if we are
comforted, it is for your comfort,
which produces in you patient endurance
of the same sufferings we suffer.
And our hope for you is firm, because
we know that just as you share in our
sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
~2 Corinthians 1:1-7~
"You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD, the LORD, is the
Rock eternal."~Isaiah 26:3-4~

His heart is touched with my grief;

“God didn't promise day without pain,
laughter without sorrow, sun without rain.
But He did promise strength for the day,
comfort for tears and light for the way.”
