Father, take this life I give to You.
Please guide and direct me each day through.
Cleanse me from selfish and grasping ways.
Let Your love flow through me all my days.
I need cleansing and filling each day,
Or else I'll walk in my own way.
Help me, Savior, each day to renew
Dedication of myself to You.
The world crowds in, so much to be done;
I need real help from Spirit and Son.
When fear would grip me and troubles come,
Send me Your peace, and the war is won!
In simple child-like faith and real trust
I turn, dear Lord, to You... It's a must!
I pray for others who have no hope.
Without Christ Jesus they blindly grope!
Lord, make my life a good example.
On others' lives don't let me trample.
Help me to encourage in the way,
And thus bring You glory every day. by Geneva Poynter
"Do not merely listen to the word, and
so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Anyone who listens to the word but does not
do what it says is like a man who looks at
his face in a mirror and, after looking
at himself, goes away and immediately
forgets what he looks like. But the man who
looks intently into the perfect law that gives
freedom, and continues to do this, not
forgetting what he has heard, but doing it
—he will be blessed in what he does."
~James 1:22-25~
"For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith—and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God— not by works, so that
no one can boast. For we are God's
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to
do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do."~Ephesians 2:8-10~
"Dear friends, let us love one another,
for love comes from God. Everyone who loves
has been born of God and knows God. Whoever
does not love does not know God, because
God is love. This is how God showed his
love among us: He sent his one and only
Son into the world that we might live through
him. This is love: not that we loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as an
atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends,
since God so loved us, we also ought
to love one another.~1 John 4:7-11~
Lord, may our lips and lives express
The blessed gospel we profess;
So let our works and virtues shine
And speak of Him who is divine. —Anon.
*When we walk with Christ, we become more
like Him. God looks not at the outward form*
But what is in the heart;
The beauty He is pleased to see,
His Spirit can impart. —Hess
